Supporting people with a learning disability at Sutton Mencap

We have skilled, dedicated staff teams providing group-based services to adults and children with a learning disability. The teams work together to plan and deliver activities; ensure support is person-centred and focussed on the individual needs and wishes of clients; ensure the safety and welfare of people who attend our services and provide personal care where required.

What we are looking for

We employ people who are committed to making a real difference to the lives of people with a learning disability and have the skills, confidence and enthusiasm to put this into practice. You will of course be caring and will understand how to look after people with additional needs. You will be great at listening and responding to what people tell you, including those who are non-verbal. You will also have the skills to plan and deliver activities so that the people who attend our services get the most out of the time they spend with us.

Why work for us

Sutton Mencap is great place to work. Our enthusiastic staff team helps people with a learning disability to learn together, make friends, try out new experiences, take part in community life and have fun. For sessional posts, we can offer full time, part time and bank posts to fit around busy lives. We also provide a comprehensive training programme which will help you give the best possible support to the people who attend our services.

Sutton Mencap is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults. Our recruitment procedures are designed to ensure all employees and volunteers share in this commitment
